Santa Claus is taking time off from preparing for Christmas by taking the plunge at Hastings’ Blue Reef Aquarium on Saturday, December 10th (11am-1pm).
The fearless Father Christmas will be donning scuba gear and making a splash to entertain visitors at the Rock-a-Nore Road attraction.
The sub-aquatic Saint Nick will be temporarily sharing the giant tropical ocean display with a variety of sharks, rays and hundreds of brightly coloured reef fish.
Blue Reef’s Leanna Lawson said: “Several metres underwater may not be the first place you’d expect to come face to face with Father Christmas.
“We’re hoping our sub-aquatic Santa will add a festive twist to the experience and will prove to youngsters there really isn’t anywhere Father Christmas can’t deliver presents – and it’s certainly a lot warmer than the North Pole!
“One of the unexpected bonuses is that the sharks and other fish are extremely curious and tend to follow him around the display which makes for some spectacularly close encounters for Santa,” she added.
