Donation to Homeless Charity

Hastings Blue Reef Aquarium has donated tickets to a local homeless charity in the run up to Christmas.
The Rock-a-Nore Road attraction has offered a set of complimentary tickets to a group of women from the Seaview Project in St Leonards-on-Sea.
The charity run an open access wellbeing centre where people in need can receive food, drink, shelter, warmth, clothes and a friendly welcome.
Blue Reef Aquarium’s Leanna Lawson said: “We were approached by one of the coordinators from the Brighton Oasis Project which works with local women and families.
“She mentioned that Christmas was a particularly hard time for many of the people they work with and said several women at the Seaview Centre had asked if they could visit the aquarium.
“We were only too pleased to donate some tickets for them to come and enjoy themselves and get away from the stresses and strains of their everyday lives and we are looking forward to welcoming them in January, when they plan to visit,” she added.
Launched in 1985, the Seaview Project offers a range of support services helping marginalised people with addiction problems, mental health issues, ex- and at-risk offenders and rough sleepers achieve personal growth and fulfilment.
During 2014/2015 the charity has provided support and advice to more than 1,000 vulnerable individuals, served over 6,600 hot and nutritious meals and welcomed more than 500 people at its wellbeing centre.
The Brighton Oasis Project (BOP) is a substance misuse service for women and families in the heart of Brighton. Its aim is to support and empower women who have difficulties with drink or drugs to make positive changes in their lives.
